D:O:B : Feb 99
From : Ipswich
Height : 6ft 1
Nickname : It's Romaero, because of my aggressive position! Got plenty other nicknames but that is my favourite
Started cycling aged : Learnt to ride a bike at age 4 and started road cycling when I was 13
First bike : My first bike was a blue Raleigh bmx with an alien themed paint job, it was top notch!
What inspired you to cycle : My dad used to race crits and do very well in time trials in the 80's, I had always enjoyed riding my bike and wanted to take it more seriously with the support and experience of my dad.
Favorite place to ride : Always enjoy a good ride along the quiet country lanes of Suffolk, although not many hills, there's some very scenic routes around here that I do.
Favorite race : Would have to be Paris Roubaix.
Post race meal : Porridge with raisins and walnuts
What inspires you to keep going when on the limit : I have to tell my self; keep going, keep pushing, don't give up . It's really important. If I give up now because I'm in the hurt, I will regret that decision
Who is your cycling hero and why : Sir Chris Hoy for sure. Watching his performances in his last Olympics, seeing him get on the podium was so inspiring. I remember a school assembly I had once, before I was even a road cyclist that showed how hard he would train, until breaking point. Then To see him get those gold medals in 2012, it taught me that if I work hard enough, I can achieve anything.
What has cycling taught you : anything is possible, dream big!
Favorite music : Rock, indie and a bit of pop. Music like catfish and the bottle men, wolf Alice, Mallory Knox and the killers is music I really enjoy. My favourite song at the moment is 'jenny was a friend of mine' by the killers.
Favorite film : Dead pool
